ACS Carnival and Showcase 2008

By aiyin89 | June 10, 2008

The ACS Carnival and Showcase was held after the mid year exams on the 21st of May 2008. Well the activity was done in a small scale for it only involved students and teachers of ACS. Coupons were sold to the students of the school. Performances, games, food and exhibitions were held in the ACS Hall, ACS Green and classrooms. Everything was organized by the students with some advice from their teacher advisors.

We were lucky to be able to see performances from seven societies- Boys’ Brigade, Kadet Remaja Sekolah (GIrls), Band, Sang Moo Doo, Taekwondo, Silat and Pencegah Jenayah.

We also had exhibitions in classrooms from INCULS, Boys’ Bridgade, Kelab Bimbingan Dan Kerjaya, MASCTECH (Senior, Middle and Junior), Cyber Students, Olahraga, Peers, FIlateli, Kelab Kewangan, Pengakap, Bahasa Cina , Bahasa Melayu, Bola lisut, Homemakers, and Badminton.

We had a wide range of foods in the food fair. A total of 27 food stalls were available with different types of food. We had waffles, popcorn, nasi lemak, jelly, desserts, kebab , fried noodles, pearl milk shake, burgers, finger food, drinks, ice cream, rojak, fresh fruits and many more.

We did face some difficulties. Some societies did not co-operate and listen to instructions. Some did not help arrange the canteen tables which we borrowed, and left them in a mess. Coordination of the organisers and societies was not good enough. Most of the students went to the hall to get food and the ACS Green were a bit empty despite the line up of performances scheduled. Hopefully next year the next committee would be given more time to plan and have the show case and food fair separated to avoid any problems between the two. Announcements should be made earlier so that all presidents would be informed and be able to attend the meeting. Deposit money should be increased and not be given back if societies do not follow instructions.

All in all, even though we had only a few days to meet up and plan for this event (because our exams ended on the 16th of May which is a Friday) and the Carnival was on the 21st which is a Wednesday). I believe that the Carnival and Showcase 2008 was a huge success.

Thank You!!

By aiyin89 | May 21, 2008

Written on 21/5/2008 *tired*

I would like to say thank you to the Boys Brigade for helping me out with the cleanliness of the school. The school is so clean and neat now, thanks to all the Boys’ Brigade members.

Besides I would like to say thank you to all the co-curriculum prefects for doing such a great job. Love you guys! I would not be able to handle such a big crowd without your help. Thanks to you guys, everything went smoothly.

Next I would also like to thank the societies which participated in the Showcase and Food Fair, you guys are great. You made the Food Fair and Showcase interesting with your ideas on stalls and your performances. Scouts did a great job on their menara, Form 6 Society and Cyber Student did a great job on the emcee part, Band, Taekwondo, Sang Moo Doo, Silat, Pencegah Jenayah , KRS, and Boys’ Brigade did interesting performances. I wanted to watch everything but I was very busy. Hopefully I will be able to see the pictures taken on that day.

Not forgetting our prefects of our school. Thank you for helping out today.

Lastly I would like to thank all the students and teachers - our principal Mr Ho, PK. HEM Pn Khoo, Pn Ong, Ms Jessy, Pn Napiah and Teacher advisors, for your cooperation and for giving me an opportunity to have this Showcase and Carnival this year with a blast. Thank you.

To all stated above,
The Carnival and Food Fair would not be a success without YOU!

SO THANK YOU!!!!!

Love,

Aiyin

Ps. If there is ANY comments about the carnival please tell me so we can improve it next year.

Life-Saving & Swimming Club

By yuanzhou | May 19, 2008

Hi I’m Ling Yuan Zhou, the President of the Life-Saving & Swimming Club (previously known as Sea Rescue Unit) for the term 2007-2008. For the first time in history our club is finally having our own club t-shirts and we have been receiving lots of positive feedbacks :D

This time, I have personally designed it the way I feel is appropriate and matching. The theme of the design that we had in mind is something simple, ‘light’, and pleasing to the eyes. The price for each shirt is RM14.50.

In case there is anyone who’s interested, the design can be found in my blog, P.U.R.P.L.E.X.I.T.Y

Thank you.
